Owingsville

Just off I-64 about 45 miles east of Lexington is Owingsville in Bath County.  Home to about 1,600, this little town is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and is full of history, pretty homes, and friendly people.  After a spring morning strolling through downtown, we had a delicious lunch at Willoughby's Down Home Restaurant.

Paint Lick

Our most recent adventure introduced us to Paint Lick in Garrard County.  We strolled along Paint Lick Creek and Main Street taking in the pretty scenery and the pleasing mix of old and new throughout the town. A highlight of our visit was meeting Welsh furniture maker and blacksmith Don Weber, his wife, and their dog, Boy-O.

B & N Food Market

We had a great lunch during our visit to Bagdad!  The folks at B& N Food Market were friendly and welcoming, and they serve up some delicious food.  We'll definitely be back!

Bagdad

Friendly people, good food, and interesting sights.  We found all these in tiny Bagdad, Kentucky, when we stopped there for lunch last week on Valentine's Day.

* Watch for the next blog post which will feature the delicious lunch we had in Bagdad.
