Bardstown's Pioneer Cemetery

Pioneer Cemetery, Bardstown, Nelson County
Located behind The Jailer's Inn, this cemetery was in operation from 1789 (or before) until the 1850s.

The cemetery grounds are well-maintained.



The cemetery contains several enclosed or walled plots, and those are mostly overgrown with weeds.

Notice what looks like a hand drawn bird on this stone.

Many headstones and vaults are broken and in disrepair.
