Sadieville's Rosenwald School

The Rosenwald School, Sadieville, Scott County, Kentucky
In the early 20th century, as many as 5,000 Rosenwald Schools were built in the United States, particularly
in the segregated South.  Rosenwald Schools were built primarily to improve educational opportunities
for African American children.  Sadieville's Rosenwald School was constructed around 1917 and was funded
by the Rosenwald Foundation, the Scott County Board of Education, and the Sadieville community.
