Freedom Home

Freedom Home, Bedford, Trimble County
This old house was built around 1865 by my great-great grandfather, J. F. M. Lee, and was rumored to have been a stop on the Underground Railroad.  The house originally sat about two miles south of this spot, but was moved by some wonderful preservationists when it was threatened was demolition.  This photo was taken from just south of Hanover, Indiana, on the banks of the Ohio River.

The Trimble County Generating Plant, operated by Louisville Gas and Electric, now sits on the original location of Freedom Home.
