Former water pump and treatment structures for steam locomotives used on the tracks up the hill. Steam helper engines were stationed here to help trains out of the river valley and water was in constant need to replenish them. Now under full renovation into living spaces.
I emailed Madison County tourism not realizing these were in Clark County. I wonder what they were for?
ReplyDeleteI have wondered the same thing, but have not found the answer. Let's keep searching!
